Functions

1. Develop a facilitative policy and regulatory framework for Miraa, Pyrethrum and other Industrial Crops sub-sector;
2. Registration and licensing of value chain actors;
3. Surveillance along border ports and other Miraa and Pyrethrum growing areas;
4. Inspection of nursery operators, dealers, processors, Importers, exporters and other stakeholders;
5. Capacity build County Government staff and other stakeholders on Miraa, Pyrethrum and other Industrial Crops on requirements for registration, licensing, standards and the industry code of practice;
6. Keep records of contracted growers; and
7. Recommend general industry agreements between farmers and buyers of Miraa, Pyrethrum and other Industrial Crops.
